Mrs. Kawashima last week.
She is a founder of the Japanese Study Division
at Hunter College and now 88 yrs old - still teaching!!
She came to America when she was 49 yrs old for her daughter's education.
Not only she did not speak English at all back then,
but there were no school or education available for her
growing up during the war in Japan.
Her passion for the academics lead her
to a long journey of pursuing Ph.D at the Columbia University,
starting with the English Language school at 50 yrs old!!
So when many of my other clients says
" I have to give up because I'm 35" or 40 or 50 ...
I always bring up Mrs. Kawashima' s story.
You don't have to give up on anything.
You really have to want it.
Mr. Chaz Palmiteri at A Bronx Tale said
when I went to his restaurant that's just opened,
" You view it, you do it. "
Really.
Taking the action on the things that you feel passionate,
That's what matters the most.
